Forget what you think you know about the Middle East and its women. You haven't seen nothing yet. Working Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar was truly educational.

Although some of them may wear a burka, underneath those fancy gowns of black, are the most fashion forward women. Items that have ripped the runway. Things that that are limited addition.

Their makeup is put on to perfection. From eyes to lips, nothing is off beauty. The finger nails are no exception.

Both men and women are not hesitant about grooming and looking well kept.

I had the pleasure of not only working on the Middle Easts prized stars, but some of our western stars such as the lovely Robin Wright.

Aside from the great company of Alex Fox, Publisher of Scratch Magazine, I was accompanied by triple threat makeup artist, hairstylist, manicurist Michelle Cameau, contributing editor to Brink Magazine.

No greater pleasure then associating with fellow artists such as Kirsten McLachlan, Lead artist for Nails Qatar, the leading nail experts of Qatar.

Beauty is beyond your finger tips, it starts internally according to Layla Neal, who has healing hands that teaches on how to use natural resources to get healthy. From skin care to nail care.

I was tickled, but not surprised when celebrity makeup artist Jewel told me how often she had to do nails because there was non on set. Love to hear there is a need for our service and room for growth.

What a wonderful learning experience and to think it is all made possible because I do nails.

Bridal market week proved to be haute this year. Amsale kept it clean for us with the nail color choice. But definitely nails were done. From Christos and Kenneth Pool, the various shades of nude were very reflective a well manicured nail.

Simone Cavalli, did a mother of pearl look that shimmered just a little to capture the light and the sparkle in the eye of the bride.

But Yumi Katsura brought it hard with "Black". Rocking down the aisle like the confident woman that would dare wear her collection of edgy fashion. The nails were bold and definitely an attention capturing item coming down the runway.

So brides, whatever your look, just make sure you get those hands manicured.

These words are bound to make any company a fortune if everyone knew this bit of information.

If you thought beauty was just pure vanity then you know nothing about history and Egyptian history at that. In my opininon Egypt has got to have been the birth place of the beauty industry. From the wigs that both men and women wore, the eyeliner, again both men and women. To their henna manicured hands and feet.

As I walk down this magnificent road, looking at the architecture, viewing the pedestrians with their fashion forward garbs, the women, layering their modern westernized clothing. With their head dressing caressing their coiffed hair. The redish stained nails caused me to ask the housekeeper where can I go get my henna manicure. She quickly finishes the house work and out the door we were on our way ...

The history of henna tattoo go back some 5000 years when Egyptian Pharohs used it to stain their fingers and toes before mummification.

From cultures such as the Arabs, Indians, Native -Americans, Africans, and South Americans, this ancient form of hand painting is truly an art.

Once used for healing purposes for headaches, liver disorders, skin diseases. Then became used as a beauty regime from wedding decorations to hair coloring.

To be able to go to visit the ancient city of Egypt and actually experience this there was amazing. A new found appreciation I have formed for this amazing art form.

Another successful fashion season completed. This season m2m damoreJon team not only completed their own season of shows but was able to be of support to another amazing artist. Elle Gerstein, spokes person for Essie. We also got a chance to chat with Essie herself. What a success story.

Then we had the honor of taking charge in 25 shows in London Fashion Week VauxHall lead by our team leader Dawn "Pebbles" Aikens and her team of artist Lori Baker, Nadia Blanco, Jessica Marks, Dominque Meredith. Our regular run with one of our favorites Nicole Farhi, supported by new team members Penny Owens and Kate Brooks.

Minx, also was part of this seasons extra-ordinary show season. The gold mirrow like applicays proved to be a major hit for us this season.

24 colors used, 6 nail technicians, 2 time zones what does this require? Team work, great leadership skills and trust.
No way in this life or the life to come can anyone feel that they can do everything. You can have the S on your chest and on our back and it still wouldn't be possible.

Being proficient in skills is not enough to build a career. Building a net work is key for growth and prosperity.

m2m damoreJon Natural Nail Care System, has now been out for the past 2 years with great success we have to say. We have hit the market hard and quick. there is so much more work that can be done and has to be done.

Starting off we were satisfied to just launch 17 colors and 1 treatment in hopes to not flood the market with any more nail colors then there were already out there. But to our surprise the response was tremendous and warm causing us to create a summer collection that would hit the younger demographic withe amazing Pastry Co, Angela and Vanessa. Another smash of a hit for us in the beauty industry.

Then our legends collection followed with legendary stars such as Kym Hamptons of the WNBA, Mikki Taylor legendary Beauty Icon director of Essence Magazine, Amerie, Estelle to name a few....

Summer came again and The Kardashian crazed called us to create another collection for our summer sizzling ladies the Splash of Dash collection, filled with pastel colors to keep things cool.

Our final collection which is inspired by our Bad Girl of Music Beverly Bond, Founder of Black Girls Rock Foundation. Colors are inspired by fashions Hottest ladies, Naomi Campbell, Daisy Fuentes, Carmindy, to say the least.

But creating colors that are inspired by these diva's is just one step of building a brand. It requires dedication, constant promotion, consistent flow of events that will constantly keep us fresh in the public eye.

Editorial events, store events, consumer events are one way. The other way is by constantly blogging, twitter, Face Book and getting it into the hands of some of the most amazing professionals. (Gina V and myself, one of my fans of the products)

Which in itself can be time consuming but are necessary things to ensure the success of the product.

Finding a career that fulfills goes beyond going to school. It starts with a dream, putting it into action is the hardest thing but the most necessary.

Finding a good support system also becomes important. Without the proper support the challenges one faces makes it impossible to continue the journey.

I have the honor of having great examples in my life from my mom who thought the struggles of life, raising kids; being a foreigner learning a language to survive in her new home was the first perfect example of persistence, consistency and determination that I had.

Then I had to remember to constantly surround myself with those who had similar dreams and determination.

Stay on top of your game, perfect your skills and keep your focus.

Eighteen years of this career has flown by so quickly that I can't imagine haven done anything else.
What make it special is not the financial rewards I was able to gain because I was able to perfect my skills. But It was the amazing contacts, people, more recent the travels that I have had the opportunity to gain because of the hard work.

I am still working hard and enjoying every second of it. The challenges one face is not the actual labor, the schooling, the hustle of getting to an assignment. But is is the conflicts, the wars that you face with those who challenge your skills and your integrity.

If your not grounded, convicted and are surrounded by warriors of like it will eat you alive. I am fortunate enough to be discerning to know those that come with their own agendas and those who come to build.

I am surrounded by some of the most amazing people in my immediate circle that are there to protect "OUR" dreams. Those dreams along with the commitment of those with me protect our empire.

Finding the right nail color now days is not very difficult. With so many options from Revlon, Dior, SpaRitual, Nars and now the newcomer m2mdamorejon. How does one find what is best for them? Well the key is to do your research on each brand and find one that suits your needs, lifestyle and budget.

When we created m2m our concerns were to have a product that was natural as nail polish can be. Remove the chemical products that were hazardous to its users, quick dry for the working woman with no time to wait for drying. In selecting our colors we made sure that the colors were timeless enough to attract the sophisticated woman but attract the young and trend setting crowds.

In placing our products in selected salons, spas, and retail boutiques we look for places that both reflect the qualities of our consumers, fans, supporters. The price points are also conscience of the our consumers budget, especially in these hard economic times. But will not compromise their regular beauty routine by skipping a manicure and pedicure service or buying some of their great beauty finds.

The m2m team serviced Joy Allen and her quest to planning the perfect wedding for the World Bride Magazine, for Bridal Beauty Night Out! Some of the hottest manicure creations in town! Our bride got the Black Berry Bling (Bridal Edition)and loved it!! Dex New York was an amazing space for this event! Nicole Jones Hair stylist extra-ordinaire was absolutely amazing! Lead makeup artist Felicia Walker Benson along with the fabulous Dex Team, Jane Wilson Marquis show cased the most amazing wedding gown and cocktail wear! Holly Slayton showed us some the most amazing head pieces I have ever seen!!!! This was an AMAZING event!! Brides know how to have fun!

Celebrity artists such as Pat McGrath, Renee Garnes, Eugene Souleiman, Lucia, Sophy Robson were among the greats that we had the honor of working with.

m2m damorejon had the privilege of being in a room filled with greats, designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs who rocked the Afro for his collection for Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney who made the girl feel like a sexy, elegantly chic woman.

m2m damorejon did it again this year. We were back with Vera Wang, we added to our list of amazing designers Luca Luca, Port 1961, David Baiso, Vivienne Tam, Epperson, and The Vessel by Lois Samuel.

We had the honor of providing services for the Daily Magazine Gifting Suite, we provided mini manicure services and Minx. Our guest and supporters were editors of Lucky Magazine, Essence Magazine, Bride Magazine, Vogue Greece and celebrities such as Teyanna Taylor, Kym Hamptons.

At shows we caught up with our favorites Vanessa Simmons of Pastry, Estelle whom we adore and AJ Crimson.

Kym Hampton brought us along to celebrate Mary J Blige foundation Fawn at Gucci.

We got a chance to celeberate Dwight Eubanks fashion show and party with the Haitian Princess Melky Jean.

We had a blast at Giant Magazine party with Teyanna Taylor and some of the WNBA players.

We also celebrated Fashion Night out with Dex New York. The turn out was amazing.

Premier Industry Opener

We have put together a 3-day workshop group for Nail Techs that want to get into the fashion industry. The lectures would take place 3 days before fashion week we will host this work shop that will provide training to manicurist for on set production, Fashion Week, gifting suites, and beauty lounge bookings. At the end of the lecture we will have a team ready to go for Fashion Week in NYC 2009 to observe and possibly work with one of the manicurist leads. We will have manufactures in the nail industry sponsors this 3-day event. Each brand will receive exposure to the professionals; they will have an opportunity to get their products in the hands of the professionals, which will get taken back to the salons to get consumer exposure.

Other Brands will have the opportunity to Vend/Lecture; introduce their products to professionals at this 3-day workshop.

Day One Professional Behavior 101--Customer Service,

Question and Answer regarding dealing customers, clients, vendors, producers, agents etc

Day Two Product Awareness-- What is professional Products, over the counter products and their uses

Ingredients, product usage, and how to properly use each manufactures products.

What you think you know about it, developing a portfolio to be industry Ready. (Ford Artists, Editors, Booking Editors, Producers, agents who do the hiring)

I will invite other celebrity Manicurists that I know to give tips and advice.

The Brands that want to get their products in the hands of these pros will have an opportunity to sponsor, we will provide goodie bags with samples of all participants’ products for all registrants.

We will then develop a membership for m2m damorejon so that once they leave they still have access to News Letters from us keeping them updated, and vendors can buy into it as well to post new products to the pros. ($50.00 a month)

Once three-day course is completed we will attempt to send new members to observe on photo shoots, work on set, and Fashion Week as volunteers Sept 10- Sept 10, 2009. (based on show bookings and photoshoots on the calendar)

Traveling students will be able to book hotels with various hotels so they receive group discounts. (Marriott Courtyard, Westin Hotel, Hilton, they may be considered sponsors by offering special.)

Classes will be held:
